The 2023 DataIQ Awards shortlist was announced last night, Thursday 29 June, revealing the hopeful individuals, teams and businesses vying for success at the most prestigious data awards event on the calendar. The DataIQ Awards celebrate the triumphs and developments in the world of data in all its shapes and forms with the goal of enhancing the standing of data teams within businesses. To be shortlisted is itself an achievement for impressing the judging panel in a contest where competition has doubled since the 2022 awards.
The 2023 DataIQ Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 27 September 2023 at The Roundhouse in London, UK where the shortlisted hopefuls will find out which of them will take home the title.
“The DataIQ Awards are separated into five streams: Data for good, Culture and skills, Data literacy, Innovation and People,” said David Reed, chief knowledge officer and evangelist, DataIQ. “Each segment has an array of categories designed to highlight the best of data and analytics totalling 33 individual awards plus the Grand Prix and Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Contenders for this year’s awards include; British Council, Specsavers, Sainsbury’s, Jaguar Land Rover, Marks & Spencer, NatWest, ITV, British Airways, Save the Children, BT, Mind, Burberry, Network Rail, HM Revenue & Customs, Gucci, Heathrow Airport and many more.

There were 32 independent industry judges plus head judge Paul Chapman, global director of business intelligence, performance management and innovation, JLL, tasked with assessing the 424 submissions. This is a 50% increase on the 2022 submission total demonstrating the growth in importance of data for modern businesses.
