Miriam Vizvary, chief data and analytics officer, The AA

Describe your career to date

Starting out as a data analyst for an insurance software provider, I spent the first half of my career writing ETL programmes on large scale data migrations and warehousing projects. Using my stakeholder management and organisational skills, I moved into project/programme management, focusing on delivering transformational programmes in data.

In 2018 I left the insurance world and joined Hive, then subsequently Sky to focus more on data science and analytics. Very recently I have taken on a new challenge at The AA as its chief data and analytics officer, where my focus is to generate value using analytics as well as balance the legacy data estate with the strategic opportunities.

I am passionate about the future of data and continually keep up to date with the latest advancements. I recently completed the AI: Implications for Business Strategy course at MIT.

What stage has your organisation reached on its data maturity journey?

The AA is quite advanced with their data infrastructure and tools and skills, however, there is a lot of opportunity for analytics and machine learning.
