Describe your career to date
My career started in investment banking regulatory compliance. A few years ago I realised that trading and financial services was moving towards a more data-driven business with the growth of algorithmic trading and customer insights to identify new business opportunities etc. This resulted in upskilling myself in data, AI and digital via online courses, degree apprenticeships etc. I soon realised that good data and efficient business processes are the key to any successful organisation. I now work for the data office in my organisation as data governance specialist.
Tell us about the data and analytics resources you are responsible for
BP Group has approximately 60,000 employees, the global trading business I am involved with has approximately 2,000 employees. My main responsibility is embedding data-driven culture, data foundations and governance across the trading organisation. I also get involved with data and digital strategy in other parts of the wider BP Group.
Tell us about any ambitions you have in terms of becoming a data leader
Everyone has a right to good data access at the click of a button. My ambition as a data leader is to provide this to the organisation.
