Who is this open to?
Anyone working in or supporting the data and analytics industry can nominate themselves or one of their colleagues. What is the cost to enter?
There’s no cost: nominating yourself or a colleague is free.

Can I nominate only one person?
There is no limit to the number of people you can nominate. As long as their experience and what they have achieved is relevant, then you can put forward as many people as you believe should be considered for the list.

How is the final list decided upon?
DataIQ reviews every nominee, focusing on how they stack up in the following critical areas:

  • Leadership within their organisations: How they demonstrate the importance and value of data and analytics, either by taking it to the very top level (Data Titans) or by showing how their solutions are impacting on the way data and analytics are deployed by clients (Data Enablers).
  • Engagement: How they are interacting with the broader data and analytics industry. Are they playing an active role on an industry council or working group? Are they speaking at conferences/webinars, publishing thought leadership articles or involved in other external activities across the industry?
  • Support DataIQ and our mission: We focus on advancing the profession of data and analytics, so involvement with what we are seeking to achieve can’t be a bad thing.

What should I focus on including in my 250 word submission?
Whether you’re nominating yourself or someone else, you want to highlight how you, or they, are
making a difference in data and merit consideration for the list. Examples of this include:

  • being instrumental in changing the perception and importance of data within an organisation
  • developing data-driven processes to deliver real work benefits for an organisation
  • building teams and capabilities to ensure the data function is driving the organisation forward
  • proving to be a role model for people in the organisation or industry
  • helping use data to be a force for good in society
  • finding new ways to apply data to situations that drive innovation
  • developing new data solutions to overcome complex issues

Is my 250 word submission confidential?
What you submit in the nomination form will not be shared publicly or with the nominee (if you are nominating someone else). The information provided will only be used for our judging panel to understand why the individual should be put forward for the DataIQ 100. If successful, our team will get in contact with the nominee requesting further information. It will be made clear which parts will be shared publicly.

Why should I enter?
Being recognised as a mover and shaker in the data industry is a notable badge of honour. With so many entries, making the cut singles you out as a leader in the industry.  Making the grade increases your industry visibility (both within your organisation and externally), opens doors to other opportunities and gives you those all-important bragging rights.

How we choose the DataIQ 100

The DataIQ 100 profiles the most important and influential people in data-driven businesses and the innovators who support them.

The list makes a clear distinction between practitioners working in great brands and end-user organisations - Data Titans - and those developing innovative solutions for business partners - Data Enablers. In addition, it also recognises key influencers that have a bearing on the data industry.

Creating the list is solely based on the nominations made by members of our community through our free nomination form.

To be considered, we look for three factors.

Firstly, individuals need to be showing real leadership within their organisations, demonstrating the importance and value of data and analytics, either by taking it to the very top level (Data Titans) or by showing genuine impact on the way data and analytics are deployed by clients (Data Enablers).

Secondly, engagement with the broader data and analytics industry is important. Whether that means being a member of an industry council or speaking at industry conferences, we believe that being visible shows confidence, commitment, status and influence.

Thirdly, we look for those who support DataIQ and our mission of advancing the profession of data and analytics.

The final list is chosen by DataIQ from an extensive consideration set - in 2022, over 1000 candidates were discussed before the resulting 100 were selected. We also choose a Top Ten, ranked for their importance and influence over the preceding 12 months.

Note: Apart from the Top Ten, all candidates are listed alphabetically by surname.
