Our Anti-Harassment Policy

DataIQ is dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience for everyone regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Delegates violating these rules will be asked to leave the event at the discretion of the organisers.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination – related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion and others.
  • Sexual images in public spaces.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
  • Inappropriate and unwanted physical contact.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.

Enforcement

Attendees asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

If an attendee engages in harassing behaviour, we retain the right to take any actions to maintain a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender and expulsion from the event.

We will act to remedy anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants.

We expect all participants to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities.

Reporting

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible to a DataIQ member of staff.

You can make a report either in person or anonymously.

Anonymous report

You can make an anonymous report by leaving a note at the desk.

We cannot follow up on an anonymous report with you directly, but we will fully investigate it and take the necessary actions to rectify the situation and prevent a recurrence.

In-person report

You can make a personal report by approaching a staff member, identified by staff badges, or contacting events@dataiq.global.

When making a personal report, our staff will ensure you are safe and cannot be overheard. They may involve other event staff to ensure your report is managed properly. Once safe, we will ask you to tell us about what happened. This can be difficult for you, but we will handle the situation and information as respectfully as possible, and you can bring someone you trust to support you. You will not be asked to confront anyone and we will not tell anyone who you are.

Our team will be happy to help you contact venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide an escort or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance and your contribution to the DataIQ community.
