What has been your path to power?

 

I was fortunate to be able to start to build data capability early in my career, in the early 2000s I was part of a team and later led a team of developers and engineers who built a global data warehouse with standard KPIs and metrics as the foundation. Since then I have worked across service, BPO and retail industries enabling businesses to harness the power and insight from data. I have been able to lead multiple different data disciples including governance, privacy, engineering, product management, and advanced analytics and data science teams.

What impact has the pandemic had on the role of data in your company/organisation?

 

The pandemic accelerated the investment in data and made data a key topic at the board level. Before the pandemic, experienced leaders often relied on anecdotal signals to make decisions and traditional businesses would us data insights in an adhoc way. When the pandemic hit no one had any experience to draw from and experienced leaders had to reply on new internal and external data sets to make predictions on performance and how best to adapt to the new environment we operate in.
