What has been your path to power?
I am grateful for the acceptance and trust I have from those I work with and for. I hope I work hard to earn that from them. Throughout my career I recognise and value diversity in thinking and capability. As such I have always been drawn to people with different technical skills and mindsets to my own. The value I have placed in those most different from me has allowed me to create interesting things with them, for the benefit of our clients and for our firm.
As such, there is no “path to power”. I am a lawyer who has valued the role of data in professional practice, the relationships we have with our clients and the business operations of our firm. I have listened to and learned from many talented people and have been grateful to have been surrounded by them, most particularly in the last 10 years at Kennedys.
What has the pandemic had on the role of data in your company/organisation?
Data has been crucial throughout the pandemic. The demand for insight has never been higher as decision makers at all levels search for a better understanding of what is going on around us both in our own business and those of our clients. The importance of data continues to trend upwards and the pandemic has only accelerated this.
In 2021, off the back of the good things we are already doing around the business and the increased acceptance of the role data plays, we started to develop our data transformation strategy.
