What has been your path to power?
Data has always been a part of my leadership journey. I began my service as an enlisted soldier in the United States Army. Upon completing Officer Candidate School, I was commissioned as a US Army Transportation Officer. I returned to federal service after September 11th to lead data innovation in the Intelligence Community at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in various positions.
In 2017, I was selected to serve as a White House Leadership Fellow, followed by a detail at the Executive Office of the President, Office of Administration and shortly after completion in 2018, was selected to serve as the Department of the Air Force chief data officer. As CDO for the Department of the Air Force, I stood up an organization from start-up to full operational capability driving data innovation across two military services, the US Air Force and US Space Force.
Today, I have the honor of serving as the senior strategic advisor for data to the federal chief information officer, shaping data policies and initiatives at the federal level.
