Naomi Adaniya, chief data officer, Drug Enforcement Administration

What has been your path to power?

Since mid-2021, Dr Adaniya has been the chief data officer for the US Drug Enforcement Agency where her work has been instrumental in developing insights for multiple projects that directly impact health and drug-related laws across the nation. Previously, Dr Adaniya worked for the Department of Justice as senior policy and data scientist where, over the course of six years, she led the Office of Policy and Legislation (OPL) Analytics Team, Opioid Fraud and the Abuse Detection Unit and Health Care Fraud (HCF) Data Analytics Team. Her data work across these groups led to her being awarded the 2017 Attorney General’s Award for Fraud Detection and the 2020 HHS Inspector General Award for Innovation.
