This is an exciting opportunity to join DataIQ’s events team as an Events Operations Manager. The role is best suited to an ambitious candidate with a strong background in delivering high quality B2B events.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and personable Events Operations Manager to deliver all DataIQ events. This person will be the main point contact for event management, suppliers, sponsors and delegates.
The role’s primary responsibilities are to deliver our commercial events programme (currently comprising DataIQ 100 Reveal, London (March), US Summit, Nashville (May), Guild, Spain (July), World Congress, London (Nov)). Secondary responsibility is to manage our smaller, but more frequent, member events across 100+ member organisations. For instance, member ‘meet-ups’ take place every quarter, and other ad-hoc events may take place throughout the course of the year (e.g. Future Leaders Reveal).
This is a position that presents an exciting opportunity to build on our expanding commercial events programmes both in the UK and overseas. You will be a key member of the DataIQ team and play an important role in accelerating the growth of the business in the UK and globally.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee end to end planning and logistics for all events, ensuring smooth and high-quality experiences for attendees.
- Source venues, negotiate contracts, manage overall events costs towards profitability.
- Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics plans
- Coordinate with vendors, venues and partners, including negotiation of contracts and monitoring service quality.
- Manage all on-site event operations, including registration, AV, seating arrangements and attendee flow.
- Create contingency plans and manage troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure successful execution.
- Track and report on event performance metrics, attendee feedback, and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with internal teams, (event producer, commercial, marketing, design), to align event goals with broader business objectives.
- Train and manage event staff, ensuing they are briefed on schedules, roles and responsibilities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for attendees and partners to ensure a positive experience.
- Handle all post event follow up, including collation of surveys (internal/external) and debrief meetings.
Your Skillset
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects from planning to completion with strong organisational skills.
- Competent in managing budgets, forecasting costs and ensuring events stay within budget.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- Adept at thinking on your feet, strong analytical skills.
- Strong focus on attendee experience, with the ability to address and resolve attendee concerns diplomatically.

- Personable, with high energy and enthusiasm; able to demonstrate a spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience of B2B event delivery and sponsorship sales
- Demonstrated experience of managing both small (20-30 attendees) and large scale events (700+)
- Experience of negotiating contracts and managing relationships with venues, caterers, AV providers, and other event related vendors.
- Proven experience working closely with cross functional teams to deliver cohesive, impactful events.
- Knowledge of industry standards, experience with risk assessments and familiarity with compliance, safety regs and best practices in event planning.
