Abhi Seth, Chief Enterprise AI & Data Officer, Boeing Company

Abhi Seth is Chief Enterprise AI and Data Officer at Boeing, where he leads the company’s data and AI strategy. With a career spanning multiple global organizations, Abhi has developed a strong track record of aligning data and AI initiatives with strategic business priorities to deliver measurable outcomes. 

At Boeing, Abhi focuses on embedding AI and data capabilities across the enterprise to support operational efficiency, decision-making, and long-term growth. His perspective has been shaped by prior leadership roles across industrial and technology sectors, where he consistently worked at the intersection of analytics, transformation, and business value. 

Previously, Abhi served as Chief Data Officer at TE Connectivity, where he led a value-driven analytics transformation, reinforcing his belief that data initiatives must be closely tied to tangible business impact. Earlier in his career at Honeywell, Abhi established the company’s first analytics center of excellence, gaining experience in scaling and monetizing AI capabilities to enhance both operational performance and customer value. At Caterpillar, Abhi led AI development across multiple business units, deepening his understanding of how AI must be tailored to industry-specific challenges and opportunities. 

Across these roles, Abhi has emphasized building cultures of innovation and collaboration, alongside a commitment to advancing diversity in STEM. He believes that when applied strategically, AI can drive meaningful change and create lasting value across complex organizations. 

 

As a data and AI leader, which traits and skills do you think matter most, and which of those have been most influential for you in your current position? 

“From my perspective, effective data and AI leadership is characterized by three essential traits and skills: deep thinking and a growth mindset, a relentless focus on outcomes by solving the right problems, and empowering our people with a better understanding of AI while building trust. 

“Leaders who embrace deep thinking and a growth mindset foster an environment of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging teams to explore new ideas and adapt to evolving technologies.  

“A relentless focus on outcomes ensures that initiatives align with organizational goals, driving meaningful impact and maximizing resources. I frequently encourage my team to utilize the PIAV model: Problem, Insight, Action, Value to drive to outcomes. By prioritizing the most pressing challenges, leaders guide their teams toward solutions that deliver tangible results. 

“Empowering our people with a better understanding of AI and promoting transparency is critical. This approach cultivates a culture of collaboration and confidence, enhancing team capabilities, and encouraging a shared vision for leveraging AI to drive business success.

Reflecting on your career, what is one non-traditional piece of advice (outside of technical skills) you would give to an aspiring data or AI leader aiming for the C-suite? 

“Develop an enterprise mindset with a focus on outcomes. Take risks and don’t be afraid of proving yourself every day and all over again.”
