Andy Markus is Chief Data Officer at AT&T, where he leads enterprise data and AI strategy with a focus on democratization, governance, and responsible use of consumer data. A seasoned data and analytics executive, Andy has built a career delivering creative, value-driven, and privacy-compliant solutions to complex, real-world challenges.
Andy joined AT&T in 2020 as Chief Data & AI Officer for AT&T Communications, where he has been responsible for advancing data capabilities across the organization. His work centers on enabling better decision-making through scalable analytics and AI, while maintaining strong standards for ethical data stewardship.
Prior to AT&T, Andy served as Senior Vice President of Data Management and Consumer Analytics at WarnerMedia, where he led efforts to strengthen data strategy and enhance consumer insights. Earlier, at Turner, Andy was Vice President of Consumer Analytics and Data Management, playing a key role in building data-driven marketing and audience capabilities.
Andy spent a significant part of his career at Time Inc., where he held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Database Marketing Services, as well as Vice President of Marketing Services at Southern Progress Corporation. Across these roles, Andy developed deep expertise in consumer data, marketing analytics, and data-driven growth strategies.
Throughout his career, Andy has been a strong advocate for data democratization, balanced with disciplined governance, ensuring that data is both widely accessible and responsibly managed.
