Carlos Merida, Senior Vice President, Engineering – Data, Products and CRM, Sony Music

Describe your career to date

I started my career doing technology consulting with firms like Cambridge Technology Partners, PricewatershouseCoopers, Capgemini and others. I was heavily involved in a variety of global projects that allowed me to accelerate the development of technical and managerial skills in different areas. As a consultant I also learned different industries, different business processes, and developed a great network of amazing and dedicated professionals around the world. It was during those consulting years where I developed my passion for data, architecture and customer experience while building solutions that involved data platforms, data warehouses, data integration, data services, master data management, data quality and CRM platforms. After being in consulting for more than 15 years, I moved into the cruise line industry and later to my current job at Sony Music, where I continue to develop my technology, managerial and industry skills, always focusing on products and solutions that leverage data and provide an enhanced customer experience.
