I began my career as a graduate in credit risk, where a challenge was access to trusted, stable, reconciled data, and it became an area of interest to me. When the opportunity arose to take a secondment into a data delivery role, I volunteered to make the move, and 20 years later have built the rest of my career in data. I have been fortunate to grow my career at a time when organisations were starting to embrace and value data, meaning great opportunities for both professional and personal growth throughout that period.
I have worked in people leadership for almost 20 years, leading small teams through to large multi-function areas, and I am passionate about seeing people develop. I do not believe there is a more important legacy when we look back on our careers than being able to feel we made a difference to inspire, coach, support and motivate others. As a woman in a tech role, I was humbled and honoured to be awarded the Women in Tech advocate of the year in 2024 and remain fully committed to seeing more women succeed in fields like data.
