I started life as an economist working for the Irish government before joining the strategy function at Freeserve. It was in the data-rich environment that was Freeserve that I dived into the world of consumer data and learned my trade as an analytics and decisioning professional.
I moved back in-house to join Sky where I did a series of Insight Director roles across the business supporting the acquisition, retention, programme-making, customer services, and operations functions. After eight years, I joined Burberry to head the Global Data and Analytics group. As result of a series of pioneering industry-first and world-first innovations and staying relentless focused on delivering quantifiable financial benefits, the team won the DataIQ Data and Analytics Team of the Year Award in 2024.
I joined The Economist nearly two years ago as Chief Data Officer reporting to the CEO. The opportunity to support the mission of The Economist through data and AI as it navigates the challenges and opportunities of the ever-evolving, and rapidly AI-driven, media and tech landscape is a great honour and responsibility.
