Della Shea, Chief Data and Privacy Officer, Symcor

What has been your path to power?

For the past 14 years, Shea has been enhancing the data and security strategies at Symcor, a financial services provider, during which time she was selected as Canada’s first information security executive of the year by information security executive networking and marketers T.E.N. and was named CDO Magazine global data power leader 2021/2020. She is currently chief data and privacy officer, where she remains an authority on privacy, digital ethics and data protection.

Prior to her time at Symcor, Shea spent seven years at RBC Financial Group in roles including director of privacy and information risk. Currently, Shea serves on several academic and industry boards including, the Analytics and AI Advisory Council, Manning School of Business Advisory Board, Information Accountability Foundation Board of Directors, Council of Chief Analytics Officers Advisory Board and the Council of Chief Privacy Officers Advisory Board.
