Howard Diesel is the Chief Data Officer at Modelware Systems and President of DAMA Southern Africa, where he champions the advancement of data management skills and governance excellence across the continent. With extensive experience supporting major financial institutions in banking, insurance, and central banking, Howard specialises in helping organisations establish effective Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and Data Governance programmes that deliver measurable business value.
Through Modelware Systems, he provides consultancy and training in data architecture, governance, strategy, and business intelligence, while also preparing professionals for CDMP certification. A passionate educator, Howard leads DAMA SA’s community initiatives and weekly discussions that empower Africa’s growing community of data leaders and practitioners.
