Kate Jones is Head of Data Strategy & Change at Coventry Building Society, where she leads the organisation’s ambition to strengthen data culture and embed insight-led decision-making at scale. An energetic and people-focused leader, she is known for aligning stakeholder priorities with high-performing teams to deliver sustained organisational change.
Before joining Coventry Building Society, Kate led a team of 80 specialists spanning data, reporting, governance and business partnering services. She brings strong technical literacy across enterprise data platforms and tooling, including Teradata, Google Cloud Platform, QlikView, Tableau and Alteryx, alongside experience in master and reference data management using IBM MDM and RDM. Her approach balances infrastructure and governance with practical value creation, ensuring data assets are both well-managed and meaningfully used.
At Coventry, her focus is on centralising data and reporting capabilities while maturing the organisation’s overall data culture. She is particularly committed to enabling colleagues to derive tangible value from data, positioning the Society to operate as a recognised data leader within financial services.
Kate completed a Level 7 Senior Leader MBA at Henley Business School, achieving a distinction in her end-point assessment with the Chartered Management Institute. Her dissertation explored how to build genuinely data-driven cultures, which is a theme that continues to shape her work.
Recognised in the DataIQ 2024 Future Leaders List and the 2025 DataIQ 100 List, Kate has also overseen award-winning initiatives at Coventry Building Society, including accolades for stakeholder engagement and data skills development. She is a proactive contributor to DataIQ events and discussions with peers, examining core issues facing data and AI leaders.
