Matthew Johnston, Head of Data Science, Sainsbury’s/Nectar

In under 12 months, Matthew was promoted to head of data science at Sainsbury’s, testament to his efforts in driving data-led decision, which included a multi-million-pound uplift in 2022. He is responsible for a team delivering over 100 million personalised offers to over 10 million Nectar customers, optimising the pipeline and increasing customer understanding.
