Throughout my career, I have mastered crafting digital, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) strategies, driving significant financial gains. With roles at SAP, Intuit, Pitney Bowes, Vodafone, Levi Strauss and Company, and now as Vice President Applied AI Practice at Searce, I am dedicated to achieving impactful business outcomes through AI.

In my current role, I collaborate with global companies at various stages of data and AI maturity, establishing cutting-edge AI capabilities and scalable solutions across diverse sectors. In addition to industry contributions, I actively engage in academic research and have several patents in the areas of AI. My focus remains on pushing the boundaries of AI for the betterment of businesses and society.

What challenges do you see for data in the year ahead that will have an impact on your clients and on the industry as a whole?

As the AI landscape undergoes a significant transformation, there is a widespread desire to integrate generative AI (genAI) into business operations. However, the foundation of successful AI outcomes lies in the availability of high-quality data.

Effective data governance and stewardship are essential for the data used by AI and generated by AI systems. This plays a crucial role in deploying AI in a responsible, ethical, and compliant manner.

With the proliferation of regulatory frameworks globally, especially in the realm of AI, managing both internally generated and externally sourced data becomes paramount. It is imperative for organizations to prioritize robust data management practices to navigate these evolving regulatory landscapes effectively.

How are you developing the data literacy of a) your own organization and b) your clients?

Within our organization, we actively foster data literacy through diverse methods, such as tailored training programs covering fundamental data analysis, interpretation, and visualization. We conduct workshops, seminars, and hands-on sessions to deepen employees’ understanding of data-driven decision-making processes.

Additionally, we promote continuous learning via access to online resources, mentorship programs, and collaborative projects, enabling practical application in real-world scenarios. Embedding data literacy into our organizational culture empowers employees at all levels to effectively harness the power of data.

For clients, we offer customized training programs catering to varying expertise levels, ensuring practical relevance and applicability to their specific needs and objectives. Through interactive workshops, hands-on training sessions, and ongoing support, we equip clients with the skills and knowledge necessary to leverage data effectively, enabling informed decisions, driving innovation, and fostering sustainable growth.

How are you preparing your organization and your clients for AI adoption and change management?

In preparing both our organization and clients for AI adoption and change management, we prioritize early involvement of stakeholders to ensure their perspectives are integrated into the process. We foster collaborative development efforts, facilitating open communication and transparency about the AI adoption roadmap. It is crucial to convey how AI will impact work processes for individuals in functions where it’s deployed, emphasizing the benefits and addressing any concerns.

We provide upskilling opportunities to empower employees to embrace AI technology effectively, promoting a culture of continuous learning and adaptation. By engaging stakeholders early, communicating transparently, and investing in upskilling initiatives, we strive to facilitate a smooth transition towards AI integration.
