I lead data, AI, analytics, and information protection at USAA – an organization with a deep mission and a clear commitment to serving its members with excellence. My focus is on using data and AI to drive innovation across products, services, and customer experience, while ensuring security, compliance, and trust at every step. I lead a team of over 1,500 professionals who are helping to modernize platforms, deliver automation, and bring data-driven insights to life across the business.
Across my nearly 30-year career, I have led major transformations in data and technology at some of the world’s largest financial institutions. At Wells Fargo, I oversaw a team of over 3,000 and led enterprise-wide work on data governance, integrated data assets, and AI enablement—developing capabilities that supported personalization, risk management, and growth across retail, wholesale, investment, and wealth. Prior to that, I led Deloitte’s data and analytics practice in financial services, where I helped top banks and payment companies modernize platforms, implement new products, and navigate regulatory complexity.
What I have learned is that technical excellence alone is not enough. To make data and AI meaningful, business alignment is everything. That means working closely with stakeholders to solve today’s challenges but also helping them imagine what is possible. When we show how data can unlock new ways of thinking, operating, and serving customers, it becomes a shared ambition, not just a functional capability.
Looking ahead, I believe data and AI leaders are entering a defining moment. The technology is evolving rapidly, but enterprise deployment is still hard. It takes vision, yes, but also relentless execution, and the ability to build solutions that are trusted, scalable, and tied to measurable outcomes. We are not just running platforms. We are leading one of the most important transformations of our time and we have a generational opportunity to shape what comes next.
