What challenges do you see for data in the year ahead that will have an impact on you and on the industry as a whole?

Leading companies and global organizations face a data and AI leadership challenge. These organizations are under increasing pressure to deliver business value from their data and AI investments.

At the same time, these organizations face growing pressure to formulate a comprehensive AI strategy that delivers business value while ensuring the necessary safeguards to mitigate risk.

How do you see data literacy developing across a) your network and b) the data industry generally?

Data and AI leaders need to become more effective in communicating the business value of data and AI investments in business terms that corporate boards and corporate leadership understand. Data and AI leaders must strive to translate data jargon into business benefits such as revenue growth, profit improvement, and customer acquisition and retention.

How do you see the industry preparing for AI adoption and change management?

Generative AI and coming forms of AI represent potentially the greatest technology transformation in a generation. Organizations must prepare for this inevitability, including development of the necessary safeguards and guardrails to ensure responsible use of AI, and development of the business use cases to deliver productivity gains, worker career growth, and improved customer experience.
