Sarah Barr Miller, Director of Data and Automation, British Airways

I am very lucky in the fact that I have only ever worked in data, before it was a specialism in its own right. My career started in data management roles, learning my craft from the basics. Joining dunnhumby was pivotal for me as they evangelise the ethos of using data to improve the customer experience. I moved into a managerial role stepping away from the coding and I then joined their International Expansion team working with retailers all over the world.  

Since leaving and having a family, I have moved from retail into other industries and have broadened my skills by building an insight team from scratch. My role at British Airways has taken me back to leading data where the rich assets and aviation industry were brand new to me.
