Van Lin is Senior Director of the Strategic Alignment Office at Freddie Mac and serves as Chief of Staff to the Single Family Data and Decisions Chief Data Officer. With more than 25 years of experience, including over two decades in leadership roles, she has built a career at the intersection of business and technology, focused on data operations, governance, and transformation.
Van’s professional journey at Freddie Mac has progressed through a wide range of roles from programmer analyst to senior leadership. In her current position, she plays a central role in shaping and executing the Single Family data strategy, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and operational delivery. Her responsibilities span budget oversight, resource allocation, executive communications, and cross-functional coordination, with a consistent emphasis on translating data insights into actionable business outcomes.
Prior to this, Van led the Data Portfolio Product team, driving the adoption of agile delivery models to develop and scale data products and services. She has also held key roles in data stewardship and governance, where she managed shared data repositories and led initiatives to strengthen data architecture and operational efficiency.
Known as a strategic thought leader and change agent, Van combines deep institutional knowledge with a pragmatic approach to transformation. She is particularly focused on optimizing processes, aligning stakeholders, and embedding data-driven decision-making across the organization.
