Describe your career to date

I have been an executive and a passionate innovator in the data analytics and AI field for almost 20 years and currently serve as the Global Chief Commercial Analytics Officer at Pfizer. Previously, I was Senior Vice President, Enterprise Data Analytics and Technology at Macy’s, where I oversaw the entire data analytics and technology organization and was responsible for accelerating the digital transformation. I also served as President of BlackLocus, a disruptive artificial intelligence (AI) innovation center of excellent within Home Depot that focused on merchandising and transforming a $120 billion plus retail business to a data and AI-driven organization. 

How are you developing the data literacy of your organization, including the skills of your data teams and of your business stakeholders?  

I am developing the data literacy of the organization by focusing on three strategic pillars: people, process, and technology. I am to recruit top analytics and AI talent and invest in internal teams through a comprehensive talent pool of data scientists, analytics engineers, machine learning engineers, insights analysts, and governance experts.  

I aim to develop a data first culture and end-to-end process for the data strategy and roadmap, improve governance and introduce consistent reporting, integrate data with business operations, and turn insights to actions. I am urging decision makers to invest in data technology and platforms to drive scalability, productivity, and speed to market. 

What role do you play in building and delivering conventional AI solutions, including machine learning models? Are you involved in your organization’s adoptions of generative AI? 

I lead the development of enterprise AI strategy, AI and machine learning solution architecture. I actively adopt generative AI in business applications. 

What are the key challenges to your data function that you are facing as its leader? 

There is a challenge to balance strategic investment in data capability while driving quantifiable business impact. We also need to focus on educating the organization on the tremendous impact of data while emphasizing the need for commitment in continuous investment.
