Roundtable – Demonstrating the value of the CDO function

Demonstrating the value of the CDO function

CDOs are responsible for building a top-down and bottom-up data-driven culture and demonstrating the value of data. But most still face substantial barriers to success, with CEOs and CFOs asking for measures that prove the function is adding value, leaving CDOs asking themselves: is there a formula for success — or am I in this alone?

CDOs must address a range of issues, including a lack of data trust across many organisations. They need to employ their skills to help improve the organisations data literacy and make management initiatives a success whilst working with colleagues in technology to ensure data platforms and analytical capabilities are in place. With many CDO tenures cut short, the path to success in the CDO role isn’t straightforward and the formula for success isn’t always clear.

This roundtable will examine techniques successful CDOs have deployed to demonstrate their value to the business and the steps they have taken to measure their effectiveness.
