Roundtable – Valuing Data as an Asset
Valuing Data as an Asset
Data as an asset is not only about how organisations manage data, but also about how they can become information-centric organisations with data at the heart of their transformation.
While the view of the value of data has improved, the approach to data often has not. Seeing the value of data requires a fundamental shift in the way organisations understand data. Data needs to be seen as more than a by-product of business processes. It needs to be viewed as a business enabler not a management and technology problem.
Enabling data as an asset requires a shift in both mindset and approach with a focus on the data architecture and data sources, scaled analytics, clear accountabilities and a strong data literacy/fluency.
