The judging panel were seeking a standout example of translating fine words into finished actions, showing that AI can exceed its everyday role and bring transformational change for people, environments, outcomes, and more.
Sainsbury’s stated that health is one of the fiercest challenges facing the UK and healthier eating is essential to tackling this – with their position as a leading food retailer pivotal to this challenge. Sainsbury’s are actively setting the ambitious goal of 85% sales classified as healthy and better for you by 2025.
To achieve this, Sainsbury’s created market-leading AI algorithms to understand the healthiness of over 25,000 products and give insight on millions of customers’ health levels and challenges. Combining these tools and insights with a rapid test-and-learn culture, the team at Sainsbury’s have tailored their marketing platforms and campaigns to consistently support and nudge sustainable diet shifts for a healthier future.
