The academy has an integrated approach, refreshing technical and soft skills that incorporate gamification, self-led, classroom and supported learning techniques. NatWest also has a data book club which is described as a more subtle and creative way to stimulate data curiosity and promote engagement.
The NatWest data academy focuses on impact, with diverse resources available across three key audiences, which helps maintain momentum and promote enhanced collaboration between data professionals and the wider organisation. Since launching, the academy has empowered 600 data ambassadors to promote the “how and why” of data benefits.
Dedicated training and one-to-one coaching opportunities support the NatWest teams in delivering enhanced data capabilities for staff, while 220 board executives have attended data bootcamps to enhance their understanding of data, its potential and their ethical data responsibilities.
Furthermore, an investment of nearly £1 million has enabled 350 practitioners to upskill, resulting in a large, cohesive community of data colleagues that can provide rapid collaboration and analysis.
The academy created by NatWest has allowed a data-driven culture to evolve that offers a diverse and inclusive learning proposition focused on addressing immediate challenges and supporting staff to gain professional capabilities and accreditations. The success of the academy has resulted in an 89% favourability rating measured from staff engagement surveys.
