Andrea Sternfeld, data manager, Royal Mail MarketReach
Who is she?
Andrea’s career has covered data management for a data owner and data operations management for agencies, before joining her current organisation in 2014. She has transformed the way the data planning team works with client data and responds to client briefs by driving efficiency, best practice and upholding high standards of compliance.
What does she do?
Before Andrea’s arrival, data planners would handle data preparation. She has transformed the approach by aggregating data into clean, coded, normalised datasets which data planners can use as they wish, creating efficiency within the team. This led to an increase in the number of client briefs they can undertake and a corresponding lift in revenue.
She has worked with Royal Mail’s governance director to create training for the planning team around GDPR legislation which was then rolled out to the whole organisation. To tighten data security, Andrea collaborated with the larger Royal Mail Group IT team to undertake a wide-ranging risk assessment. Every member of staff was interviewed to discover how their way of working impacted data security, which led to a streamlining of the process of data storage and retrieval. Overall, Andrea has created an uplift in the capacity for processing data volumes many times over.
What did the judgest say?
