As a data and AI leader, which traits and skills do you think matter most, and which of those have been most influential for you in your current position?
“Effective data and AI leadership at Lloyd’s of London hinges on three core traits: strategic vision, clear communication, and strong governance. Aligning AI initiatives with business objectives ensures relevance and impact, while the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights secures executive buy-in and market adoption. Equally critical is embedding responsible AI practices to maintain trust and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
“These traits have been most influential at Lloyd’s because they enable us to deliver transformative solutions such as Crystal+ that are not only innovative but also aligned with growth goals and regulatory standards.”
Reflecting on your career, what is one non-traditional piece of advice (outside of technical skills) you would give to an aspiring data or AI leader aiming for the C-suite?
“Relationships matter. Strong relationships will get you through the good and bad times and are key in unlocking the potential of data and AI.”
