Kayvaun Rowshankish, Senior Partner, QuantumBlack, McKinsey

After 15 years helping banks, telcos, and startups transform their use of data, I joined McKinsey and now lead our global data practice. I have developed the data strategy, data operating model and data architecture for more than 40 financial institutions, including several large US banks, several regional banks, asset managers and insurance firms.

I work with Fortune 500 companies to treat data as a strategic asset; building high-impact strategies, modern data stacks, and delivering over $10 billion in business value across financial services, telecom, tech, and the public sector. A key part of my role is helping organizations hire the right Chief Data Officer (CDO) and mentoring them through their journey.

Today, I support CDOs in navigating not just traditional data challenges, but also the evolving landscape of AI, genAI, and agentics, helping them uncover new sources of value while redesigning how data is managed, governed, and deployed to support bold ambitions. My role involves leading the AI and data transformations for organizations, including the development of AI strategies across B2C, B2B, and network, applying a product-oriented model and building assemblies of digital twins.
