Megan Reutin, Global Head of Data Science & Strategy, AI Ambassador, Grunenthal

Megan Reutin is Global Head of Data Science and Strategy and AI Ambassador at Grünenthal, where she leads the organisation’s commercial data strategy, enterprise-wide data education, and AI innovation agenda.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in technology, with a career defined by turning data, analytics, and AI into engines of transformation. Megan began as a software engineer focused on elevating digital experiences, before joining Accenture’s Technology Labs, where her work shifted decisively towards advanced innovation. There, she helped develop pioneering data-driven solutions, including immersive analytics experiences, video intelligence, virtual reality applications, social data platforms, and advanced marketing analytics, alongside the integration of emerging technologies and devices.

Building on this foundation, Megan went on to shape enterprise-scale data, analytics, and AI strategies. She launched global AI and analytics labs, established multilingual centres of excellence and led experimentation programmes that moved organisations from exploration to execution. Alongside delivery, she became a trusted advisor to Chief Data Officers and executive teams, championing data literacy and helping organisations rethink how analytics and AI can be used to compete and grow.

At Grünenthal, Megan focuses on ensuring AI is grounded in high-quality, trusted data while delivering measurable commercial and organisational impact. Her role spans strategy, capability building and coordination of AI innovation across the enterprise, with a strong emphasis on education and adoption.

Megan’s career reflects a consistent belief that data, analytics, and AI are technical capabilities and catalysts for reinvention.

As a data and AI leader, which traits and skills do you think matter most, and which of those have been most influential for you in your current position?

“Effective data and AI leadership demands a unique blend of vision, courage, and relentless curiosity. The leaders who will shape the future are those who can translate complexity into clarity, inspire trust in AI‑driven decisions, and ignite a culture where data becomes everyone’s competitive advantage.

“For me, three traits stand above all: strategic foresight, storytelling with data, and unshakeable advocacy for responsible, high‑quality AI adoption. Strategic foresight ensures we don’t just react to technological change; we anticipate it, shape it, and position the organisation to lead. Storytelling transforms data from numbers into narratives that move people to action. And responsible AI advocacy ensures innovation is grounded in ethics, transparency, and trust.

“In my organisation, the most influential trait has been evangelising data and AI with energy and clarity by turning abstract concepts into tangible value. This has empowered teams to embrace experimentation, build confidence in AI, notably GenAI, and see data not as a technical function but as a strategic enabler.”

Reflecting on your career, what is one non-traditional piece of advice (outside of technical skills) you would give to an aspiring data or AI leader aiming for the C-suite?

“If I could offer one non‑traditional piece of advice to any aspiring data or AI leader aiming for the C‑suite, it would be this: become the organisation’s chief storyteller. Technical excellence will open doors, but it’s your ability to translate data into emotion, meaning, and momentum that will propel you into true leadership.

“Great data, analytics and AI leaders don’t just present insights, they ignite belief. They make people feel the future before it arrives. They turn algorithms into narratives, dashboards into decisions, and AI into something human, accessible, and exciting.

“Throughout my career, this skill has been transformative. Storytelling has helped me secure buy‑in for bold ideas, inspire teams to embrace GenAI, and shift mindsets from hesitation to curiosity. It has enabled me to champion data literacy, drive cultural change, and position AI as a strategic force rather than a technical function.

“Master the story, and you’ll master the room.”
