Wendy Turner-Williams, Founder and CEO, TheAssociation.AI

Describe your career to date

I have spent over 20 years working in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), data, and cloud services – most of that time focused on the intersection of data, and software. I have seen the evolution of mainframes, to servers to clouds to quantum – and led data at some of the most recognized brands in the world.

What challenges do you see for data in the year ahead that will have an impact on you and on the industry as a whole?

AI will spotlight the immense about of data debt, and poor data awareness most companies have. Issues like bias, copyright, and ethics will force a data by design focus as boards and C-suites struggle with the new risk landscapes and the poor return on AI return on investment due to a lack of data understanding, or quality, repeatable data.

How do you see data literacy developing across a) your network and b) the data industry generally?

Data literacy and business fluency will be a core aspect of data by design and AI practices.

How do you see the industry preparing for AI adoption and change management?

There will be a focus on data management maturity, stewardship, and data literacy to clear data debt, understand usage patterns, and define ethical use cases.
